Police officers of Samui police station were informed that a foreigner had run into a beer bar and smashed chairs and other things within the bar.

He was identified as 48 year-old Gabriel Gabbis, a French national, the beer bar’s owner.

Police said that when they arrived at the bar, he was in a distraught state. Police tried to calm him down for hours before he was finally arrested.

When police charged him, as he was still naked they gave him clothes to wear before he was sent to the police station for further questioning.

A friend of Mr. Gabriel's was then questioned by the police, and it was revealed he had been arguing with his wife for days and had just divorced.

He now is in police custody.
